Project Lagunita Court Dormitories

Description The project included expanding and restoring the historic Lagunita dormitory and constructing a new Manzanita dormitory over an existing surface parking lot. The Manzanita dormitory is a 40,000 sf, three-story dormitory and the Lagunita addition includes two 33,000 sf buildings. Buildings included group learning space to allow students to study and socialize, as well as private units and patios for Residential Fellows. The project includes an outdoor plaza for educational and social gatherings, including a new volleyball court, bbq and picnic area and ample bike parking. The site landscaping was designed to support the biological habitat of a California salamander.
Project St. Joseph’s Senior Housing

Description St. Joseph’s Senior Housing is an adaptive re-use site that provides senior housing at the historic St. Joseph’s building. The project is approximately 3.3 acres fronting two public rights of way, which included the renovation of six existing buildings and extensive site landscaping to meet building codes. The project included salvaging windows, wood and tile floors and wood doors and frames. The existing canary palms were relocated into a new parking layout. Public murals were painted by local artists. The project received the AIASF Honor Award for Historic Preservation and the ULI Global Awards of Excellence.
